Our friends at Wild Rover Brewing Company are launching their first ever film festival this year, and submissions are still open!
Thank you for joining us for Cocoon!
Father/son filmmakers Jordan & Jordy Klein took the stage at Tampa Theatre after a community free screening of COCOON, a film that they both worked on.
Directed by Ron Howard, the film was shot in St. Pete. One audience member said, “this is the film that made our community” referring to the neighborhood in which they shot it at.
Many of the locations still exist and can be visited! The screening brought in hundreds of Bay Area COCOON fans, old and new. And brought many first timers to the Tampa Theatre as well! Jordan Klein Sr. (98 years young) spoke about his work on films like Splash, Flipper, Miami Vice, and Thunder Ball (the film he won his Academy Award for 😱).
Jordy Klein spoke about working as camera assistant in the early parts of his career, and a conversation he and his dad had with Wilfred Brimley & Ron Howard on set. Unforgettable event, and we can’t wait for the next Film Tampa Bay Presents!

Are you prepared for Hurricane Season?
Don't get caught without a plan. If you are running a production, please ensure that you are operating in safe weather conditions while on location, and take into account that your production may need rain dates.
