Fiscal year 2021 comes to an end Sept 30th, and while we are still calculating numbers, all indications are that 2021 surprised us with record-breaking numbers. Permit numbers were up, production activity was up, along with crew hires and hotel rooms booked.

Florida being among the first states to fully reopen certainly helped, but the real credit must go to our dedicated production companies and crews. By masking up, getting vaccinated and taking safety precautions seriously, we were able to keep our sets safe, which allowed the Florida film industry to get back to work.

2022 will likely see continued challenges as a result of COVID, but also opportunities to expand on our previous year's success. Long-needed updates to our location archive are coming, our new online permitting portal will see further revisions, and the creation of a new free stock video library are just a few exciting projects coming up.

More big announcements will be coming later in the fall and will continue after the first of the year. We are committed to making Tampa Bay a community where filmmakers want to live and productions want to film. So on behalf of Film Tampa Bay, thank you for making Fiscal Year 2021 our most successful year yet!
